Happy Birthday, MLK

Today I was sitting comfy as a clam on the 7 train. The doors opened and I noticed an elderly African American lady hobble in. I scanned the rest of the train and noticed that all the seats were taken.

Of course, like everyone else, I remained seated. However, I think I speak for my fellow passengers when I say that my actions (or lack thereof) were not governed by racist laws or indoctrination, but by the general assholishness of my individual character.

And that's the society I want to live in.
