Listen up, people

You know who I blame for the war in Iraq? That’s right: Dame Judi Dench. Now I know what some of you are thinking, what on earth does Dame Judi Dench have do with Iraq? Well that’s just it, NOTHING. Look at her, just sitting there, just starring in Notes on a Scandal and Chocolat! Notes on a Scandal has been described as an emotionally intense and diabolical thriller. You know what else is an emotionally intense and diabolical thriller? THE WAR IN IRAQ! But I don’t see her taking a starring role in that. Maybe because there’s no Screen Actor’s Guild Award in it for her.

What the hell is a dame anyway? According to Merriam-Webster.com, it is “a woman of rank, station, or authority.” Call me crazy, but I don’t think this is the appropriate time for persons of authority to be starring in movies. You don’t see George Bush starring in a Highlander remake, or Dick Cheney playing the commissioner in Get Smart 2007 (even though he’d be FANTASTIC in it). Things are so bad that Arnold Schwartzenegger had to stop a very successful film career just to take control of California.

And while I’m on the subject, I notice there’s another dame that’s been laying low since 2003.

Watch out, Edna. I’m onto you.
